Feu d’Artifice

Paris, France
By Haleigh In Non classé

Bonjour…it’s been a while. Too be honest I haven’t felt too inclined to write here. Simply stated….it’s so hot in Paris I think my brain has been fried. Really, I can’t concentrate and my productivity level is at an all time low. I never thought I would wish for cooler weather, but these bright bright days have been burning me out. Don’t get me wrong though…I love a hot summer night. Like last Tuesday for what we commonly refer to as Bastille Day abroad, we braved the daylight to hold out a spot on the Champ de Mars until 11:40 at night when the sun finally set and they went off. Off all my summers in Paris I had never seen them so close, and they did not disappoint.  The photos are only half the excitement, as each design was coordinated to music broadcasted out to the crowds. Truly amazing. If you ever have the chance to see them in person for 14 Juillet, I absolutely recommend it. I won’t forget this experience and wanted to share some of my favorite pictures from it with you…

Oh my goodness, that is the most beautiful set of fireworks I think I’ve ever seen. I think I would actually start crying if I was there, just so gorgeous!

These photos are magnificent! Thank you so much for sharing them with us – this was a perfect little break from the translation I’m currently working on. How fun that you are coming to Scandinavia! (I suspect there is a wedding on your agenda?) If you happen to swing by Oslo, don’t hesitate to drop me a line! We’ll have ice cream on the roof of the opera!

  5. Love these photos! And how magical does it look?! It was super warm here yesterday (really humid) and I couldn’t do anything for the life of me, so I don’t blame you haha. Oh and have fun in Scandinavia! Can’t wait to see photos. I just booked my first trip to Paris in August and I’m literally shaking from excitement 🙂 xx

What spectacular photos! Sadly, I wasn’t able to celebrate 14 juillet with a French restaurant outing here in Cali due to bronchitis. Thank you for sharing!

That looks absolutely amazing! I HAVE to go to Paris on day on the 14th of July. I would say next year but I have other travel plans, so perhaps the year after that. Where are you going in scandinavia? 🙂

Before seeing these I was the kind of person who thought once you’d seen one fireworks show you’ve seen them all. These have completely proved me wrong — these images are out of this world!

I can’t believe you when you say these were better in person! Every single one of them were better than the last, and I really wish I could’ve seen it in person with a cup of iced rose in hand. Maybe someday!

    Oh so beautiful.
Sadly we had to leave Paris one day before the national day.
Hope to see this next year!
