Borderline

Arlon, Belgium
By Haleigh In Non classé

Two sleepy girls, we pulled ourselves out of bed by noon to make it across the border for lunchtime. Caroline was waiting for us in Arlon with a cook book of ideas to make sure we would leave anything but hungry. We filled up on warm banana bread and apple pie and decided a walk in the woods could do us good. It was like a fairytale, quiet and covered in white, mist hovering a top the trees of the forest at this pink chateau in the snowy woods. We walked the trails and imagined someday one of us might get married there. The sun was setting so eventually we went on our way. Back to Luxembourg, we navigated the snowy roads as the lights came on, leaving behind the country where buildings come in beautiful pastels and American friends wait for you on a Sunday with something home cooked and the perfect way to spend a winter afternoon.
